Zeelandia has acquired the Sevvy technology and the associated patents, enabling us to further develop this innovative heating method for bakery applications. Sevvy uses mild electrical currents to heat products evenly from the inside out. This makes it possible to bake without fats, with up to 50% less salt and sugar, and with significantly reduced energy consumption.
Our aim is to make this technology suitable for bread and patisserie production. The first results show strong potential: shorter baking times, substantial energy savings, and better retention of taste and nutrients. In addition, the lower temperatures provide extra safety and reduce fine particulate matter for bakery staff.
In the next phase, we will explore collaborations with new partners—particularly oven equipment suppliers—to take the project to the next level. This will help us determine where Sevvy can create the most value for the bakery sector.
