Leed Silver standard for sustainable Zeelandia’s factories and offices

Leed Silver becomes the minimum Zeelandia standard for upcoming investments for new buildings or major renovations of existing buildings.

Gerlof van Hoek, CSR leader: “Buildings play an important role in our CSR performance. Improving the sustainability performance of the many buildings which we own and rent within the Zeelandia group can have a big contribution to our ambition on energy savings and CO2 reduction.

Leed (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is an internationally recognized green building certification system, that can be used to determine the sustainability performance of buildings, allowing for the design, construction, operations and maintenance of resource-efficient, high-performing, healthy, cost-effective buildings.

Gerlof: “With Leed we can assess the environmental performance of a building according to globally recognized criteria. It contributes to improved indoor environmental quality and it will help us to reduce waste, energy and water consumption and greenhouse gas emission. Contributing directly to our CSR goals.“
